may i introduce you to prince albrecht of prussia. he is a very special apple tree. no, not because of his name but he was a present of my very best friend to our wedding. and the idea behind the present is absolutely lovely. when the tree will get bigger and bigger with all the years, maybe after having silver or golden wedding, we will get a round bench for that tree to sit in the shadow of this apple tree as old people.

until that time i will enjoy the harvest and this year is the first harvest for us. in the very first year of our marriage the hedgehog, or i don´t know who, enjoyed the three apples of the tree. i marveled the three apples during the whole summer, but then, from one week to the other, they were gone. the year after the tree had an illness and no apples. this year we had small but many apples and i decided to harvest them early enough, still remembering being too late last time.

i don´t know why but apple time to me always meant autumn. so it seems that our apple tree is a summer apple. i will see what i will do with them without getting into the autumn mood, hopefully.
